Senate Resolution 73
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE VOICES OF ETERNITY ON ACHIEVING NATIONAL ACCLAIM.
WHEREAS, Tyrome Taylor, a young aspiring musician, envisioned a group of young men uniting together in song to share the gift of music and founded the group known as the "Voices of Eternity"; and
WHEREAS, the Voices of Eternity includes: Jeremy Clark, baritone; William Clay, first tenor; James Johnson, second tenor; Tyrome Taylor, bass; and Henry Williamson, first tenor; and
WHEREAS, performing in school assemblies, local churches and various community organizations, the group has won several contests and talent shows; and
WHEREAS, after winning a talent show at Jackson State University, the Voices of Eternity entered the "It's Showtime at the Apollo" contest at Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson, Mississippi, where they won despite stiff competition; and
WHEREAS, the Voices of Eternity is preparing to travel to New York for the taping and subsequent airing of the show, which will be aired nationwide; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of our state, who are its future:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Voices of Eternity on achieving national acclaim and extend our heartiest wishes to the members of the group for success in all their future musical endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Voices of Eternity and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
